Situated on the Coromandel coast of south east india at the northern edge of Tamil Nadu is the capital city and one of the most popular cities in India. Guindy
Guindy National Park is one of the prime visiting spots for those who come to Chennai during vacation period. This park boasts of over 24 varieties of trees, for example, Amona Squamosa, Atlanta Monoplylla, Feronia Limonia, Azadirachta India, etc. to mention a few. Also more than 14 varieties of shrubs, over 14 types of mammals like elephant, antelope, spotted dear, jungle cat, toddy cat, Indian civet, etc.
The park also accounts for over 37 species of birds, like Black Baza, Brahminy Kite, Short Toed Snake Eagles, Grey Francolin, Eurasian Thick Knee , Yellow Wattled Lapwing, Common Hawk Cuckoos, Blue tailed Bee eater, Indian Pitta, Ashy Wood Shallow, Black Headed Cuckooshrike, Blue Throated, Tickell's and Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Pruple and Loten's Sunbird, Long leged Buzzards, black chested, black winged kite, honey buzzard, pariah kite, Ashy Minivet and so on .....
Theosophical Society Gardens and Adyar Estuary
Adyar or Adayar is a large neighborhood south of Chennai (previously Madras) in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. It is located on the southern banks of the Adyar river. It is bounded by the Buckingham Canal to the west, Tiruvanmiyur to the south, and Besant Nagar to the east.
The Gardens holds similar species to those at Guindy. The estuary has includes Western Reef Erget, Brahminy Kite, White bellied Sea Eagles, Pacific Golden, Greater and Lesser Sand Plovers, Eurasian Curlew, Black Tailed Godwit, Marsh Sandpiper, Whishkered and Gull billed Terns, Crab Plover, Brown headed Gull, Jerdon's Bushlark, Ashy crowned sparrow, white browed wagtail, Richard's and Paddyfield pipits and many more....
